INDUSTRIAL GalleryINDUSTRIAL Gallery is located in the Ostrava city center on Zahradní street 10. The gallery presents authors of a new generation and recent university graduates, helping them to develop their concepts at the beginning of their artistic career. In addition to the works by emerging artists, the gallery also focuses on the work by already established authors. It thus offers selection of first-class international art from the youngest generation through the middle generation to the oldest active artists. It presents a wide range of visual culture media, fine and applied arts with a diverse approach. 17.00-00.00 Erik Šille in INDUSTRIAL GalleryDuring the Ostrava Museum Night we invite you to visit the current exhibition of one of the most successful Slovak artists – Erik Šille. After two years he was asked by the gallery to organize an exhibition of his recent works created during his residency in Japan. The influence of Japanese culture and his favorite comic book set within the Central European context has started a new era of his work. Šille will present surface painting influenced by digital media. ERIK ŠILLEErik Šille (* 1978 in Rožňava) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava in 2006 in the studio of contemporary painting led by prof. Ivan Csudai where then until 2010 he worked as a lecturer. Apart from paintings he is engaged in graphics and objects. He is 2006 Igor Kalný Award laureate, multiple finalist and winner of the VUB Foundation Award for Painting for the 2009, laureate of the Young artist of Tatra Bank Fund for the year 2010. He participated in many important exhibitions of contemporary art. In the Czech Republic Šille presented his work in exhibitions such as Formats of transformation (2009), Selection 11.1 (2009) and the exhibition ObraSKov (2011). His works are part of the collections of the Slovak National Gallery, EP Collection Brussel, Wannieck Gallery Brno, Marek Collection etc. 17.00 Guided tour of the exhibition with the author The will also be a DJ’s performance during the evening. Until late night visitors will be warmly welcomed in the Industrial Cafe, where art lovers can taste salty and sweet treats that they can take out with them for their Ostrava Museum Night wanders.
