It is located, as its name suggests, on the first floor of a historic villa on Sokolská třída 26. Its dramaturgy presents significant and indisputable art personalities that create and uphold the concept of contemporary Czech art scene. There are presented not only works by many leading Czech and foreign artists, but also group exhibitions of mostly young artists from different regions are organized there. (www.popacademy.cz) Current exhibitions :MARKÉTA OTHOVÁ (1968 )Markéta Othová, a Jindřich Chalupecký 2002 award laureate. Since 1990 she has been opening new ways and incorporating photographic medium in the context of contemporary art. Her work is not just capturing reality, but mainly sorting photos into sets, where one photo affects the others. She discovers hidden connections between them, producing a comprehensive photographic installations and planting a story in the mind of the perceiver.
